COVID travel protocols to visit the Isle of Man

The Isle of Man is now open to visitors if they have received both vaccines and have been in a green or amber list country for the 10 days prior to travelling to the Island. There is then a process visitors need to complete before travelling in order to receive a QR code which will be used at the point of entry. It is essential that people travelling for the sportive understand what is required of them by the authorities, which can change without notice – for all the information click here.

Sailing to the Isle of Man

There is only one ferry operator to the Isle of Man – the Steam Packet Company. They run ferries from Heysham, Liverpool, Dublin and Belfast. The ferry sailings from the UK for the weekend of the Isle of Man CC are:

Flying to the Isle of Man

There are flights from the UK (Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, London City, London Gatwick, Luton, Manchester and Newcastle), Northern Ireland (Belfast), the Republic of Ireland (Dublin) and Switzerland (Geneva) to the Isle of Man. Ronaldsway airport is about 7 miles (20 mins in a taxi) southwest of Douglas. Travel insurance

The Isle of Man is subject to some extreme weather which can cancel sailing and flights with no notice (and sometimes no refunds) – we strongly recommend you take out suitable travel insurance for the weekend just in case you find you cannot reach the Island.


Entrance requirements and visa information

Photographic identification is required for air travel, but not for ferry travel. British Citizens and Citizens of the Irish Republic do not require passports or entry visas for travel between their respective countries and the Isle of Man. EU citizens require either their passport or I.D. cards for travel to the Island. Citizens from non-EU countries will need a passport and should check before travelling to the Island if a visa is required.
